As touched upon in the voki above, the most common positive comment we had about our video is the use of black and white and colour to portray the emotion and a change in atmosphere. We were really pleased that this worked out as it was such a major part to the story of the video.
Other compliments we got was the filming throughout and the wide range of camera angles and pan shots. This was important to us as we did a lot of research in how to film different types of shot so we were very happy that this paid off.
One of the main problems we had when making our music video was filming and editing the dancers. We faced a lot of problems about how to introduce them and which angle to film them to ensure they appeared elegant. So when we started to get feedback complimenting how we filmed the dancers we were very pleased.
However, we did learn about a few problems we had not foreseen. One viewer commented that some of the clips of people lacked context and on further investigation into this he elaborated by telling us that did not understand the relevance of them in the colour section as they did not fit in so well. Because of this we changed our final cut and made a second final cut where the members of the public do not feature in the final section of the music video. This also gave us a chance to show that this is were the model in the video belongs as we can now see her in her environment more as she is meant to represent a earth goddess.
Other verbal responses to our first final cut showed us a few more issue. For example, there was a framing problem in the middle where the shape of the video changed from being rectangle to being square for a few shots. This was rectified in our second final cut. Moreover, it was commented by a member in our class that the MTV logo was to big in the corner and so this was made smaller and edited to a slightly different version of the MTV Logo.
In conclusion, our audience feed back from our music video's first final cut showed us where our work had paid off and where we need to correct a few little things. This eventually lead to our second final cut which was the last cut we would make and so in our eyes without the audience feedback we would not have a finished video that was up to the standard we wanted and it needed to be.
