Digipack: Initial CD Cover Makeup Test Shots and Analysis

We began to test with some ideas we had for our digipack photoshoot as we were unsure whether we wanted to stick to the curly hair, soft eyes and natural looking persona and instead try a bolder look as sometimes music videos do not necessarily match the digipack. 

We decided to test both and see which we preferred. We decided to try a stark contrast between our video and have our model with straight hair, dark smokey eyes and bold red lips. 

This provoked a mixed reaction and after a group discussion we decided that all a good look for a more 'plastic' video, this did not fit to the genre of music we were going for and looked odd. This look would be more suited to a pop video. 

For this analysis we decided to conduct further research into the earth Gaia look we have decided for the music video as this ruled out any 'plastic' mis en scene.  

Update on Progress

After the Christmas holidays we have got together and looked at what we still need to do. We have been set some deadlines by our teachers which are as follows.

End of January - We must have completed our first full draft of our music video. This will not be finished and may need some re-shooting and more editing in places but will have the bulk of the video and will have no gaps, running smoothly.
End of February - We must have completed our final draft. There maybe time to go back and iron out a few issues after we have finished everything else but the idea is that by the start of March we must have moved onto the auxiliary tasks.
End of March - We must have finished the auxiliary tasks in full.
End of April - During April we will do the evaluation questions, and depending on how quickly we get them finished we will go back to our music video and iron out any little problems. However, by the end of April we must have finished the entirety of our coursework and have handed it all in.

Also at this group meeting we arranged a few more filming sessions in the up and coming weeks.

Testing Filming

This is a video of testing using the camera for two types of shots. The first is a pan shot, followed by the sun light shots we plan to use at the start of the music video. Having done this we have decided to look into ways of making the filming more steady and less jumpy.
